ABOUT YARA PILBARA

Situated on the scenic Burrup Peninsula, Yara Pilbara operates one of the world’s largest ammonia production facilities, supplying fertiliser to support global agricultural needs. Adjacent to the fertiliser plant is the Technical Ammonium Nitrate Plant, which produces essential products for the Australian mining sector.

Yara Pilbara is also progressing initiatives to support the development of renewable hydrogen in the Pilbara.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This full-time traineeships runs over 24 months and will see you work towards:

  • Certificate III or IV in Business, and
  • Certificate IV in Human Resources

This traineeship offers the opportunity to gain practical experience within Yara Pilbara’s Human Resources and Training team while completing a nationally recognised qualifications.

Working alongside experienced HR and training professionals, you will support a range of activities across recruitment, onboarding, employee administration, training coordination and employee engagement.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, is organised, has strong attention to detail and wants to build a career in HR or business administration.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As the Human Resources Business Trainee, you will assist with:

  • Coordinating interviews, medical appointments and candidate requirements
  • Supporting the onboarding and offboarding of employees
  • Creating and maintaining employee files, registers and HR records
  • Updating employee and training information across HR and learning systems
  • Coordinating employee training bookings and maintaining training records
  • Monitoring HR and training email inboxes and responding to enquiries
  • Supporting employee engagement activities, events and recognition programs
  • Assisting with the preparation of newsletters and internal communications
  • Preparing documents, reports, correspondence and training resources
  • Processing purchase requisitions and invoices
  • Assisting employees, contractors and visitors attending the HR office
  • Supporting HR projects, annual activities and general administration

ABOUT YOU

You do not need previous HR experience, but you should have a genuine interest in working with people and developing a career in Human Resources.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Completed Year 12, or be working towards an equivalent level of education
  • An interest in Human Resources, recruitment, training or business administration
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn new systems
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and follow through on commitments
  • A professional approach and an understanding of confidentiality
  • The confidence to communicate with employees, contractors and other stakeholders
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and show initiative
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and ongoing drug and alcohol screening

Previous experience in customer service, administration, teamwork or a role involving regular interaction with people would be highly regarded.
